Jack Weiss (RETIRED)

Founding Partner

Tully & Weiss was formed in 2001 when Jack Weiss and Joseph Tully went into private practice in the Bay Area after working together in the Fresno County Public Defender office. Jack was Joseph's mentor in Fresno, and their shared love of Justice inspired them to create the firm together.

Jack was born in the Bronx, and grew up in New York. He came West to attend the University of California at Berkeley, and worked as an apprentice union cabinetmaker while earning his way through school.  [More]

Ashley Bargenquast

Criminal Defense and Cannabis Compliance Attorney

Ashley Bargenquast has been at Tully & Weiss Attorneys at Law since 2015 and is proud to be a member of such an amazing team. She practices both criminal defense and legal cannabis compliance. Her dual role has allowed her to work hands-on with the new industry regulations and take that knowledge into the courtroom where she has used it to defend cannabis patients and entrepreneurs alike. Her undergrad was at UC Davis, and her JD is from King Hall School of Law at UC Davis. Recognized as a leader in her field, Ashley is currently the President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association's Criminal Section.  [More]

Alan Kagawa

Associate Attorney

Graduating with a degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2012, Alan Kagawa spent a year working as an emergency medical technician. He then attended Whittier Law School and graduated magna cum laude in 2017. During law school, he was a senior staff editor on the Whittier Law Review, an articles editor on the Whittier Journal of Child and Family Advocacy, a member of the Moot Court Honors Board, and the secretary of the Trial Advocacy Honors Board. He joined Tully & Weiss in 2017 where he works on Criminal Law, Restraining Orders, and Criminal Record Expungement and Rehabilitation.

Joseph Daugherty

Associate Attorney

After passing the California Bar exam last year, Joseph fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a defense lawyer.  He previously interned at Tully & Weiss Attorneys at Law in the summer of 2018 while attending Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco. He grew up in Carmichael, a suburb of Sacramento. His undergrad is from Santa Clara University, with a major in Philosophy and an emphasis in Law and Ethics. In his spare time he enjoys watching sports, hiking, and spending time with his family (including FOUR kids).

Nathan Dondi

Nathan Dondi is a Provisionally Licensed Lawyer with Tully & Weiss Attorneys at Law. He has been under the personal mentorship of Mr. Tully since 2018 while he was still in law school at John F. Kennedy College of Law. Nathan holds a certificate in paralegal studies, an undergraduate degree in legal studies, and a Juris Doctorate from JFKU College of Law. Before Joining Tully & Weiss on a full-time basis, he was a certified law clerk with the Solano County public defender, where he began the process of fine-tuning his skills of advocating against injustice.
