Tully & Weiss are proud to partner with Martinez Strong and Downtown Martinez to help people economically impacted by the coronavirus closures. We do not think anyone is “non-essential”, and we are giving away $30,000 worth of $50 restaurant vouchers to help the community. Martinez restaurants get a cash boost as the meals are pre-paid, and Martinez families that have lost work due to COVID-19 can get a great meal. It is a Win-Win for Martinez.
So many were declared “non-essential:” small business owners and their employees, bars and waiters, movie theater staff, gyms, cleaners, salon workers, shop keepers, musicians, and countless others that have been unable to work are eligible. If you know a local worker or small business person impacted economically, nominate them for a free meal in Martinez.
Restaurants have suffered with changes in dining out, and people have suffered from being out of work.
Main Street Martinez director Kara Klotchman has worked hard to coordinate this project with Martinez Strong and the restaurants and signing up people for vouchers. We got some early buzz online and from the press like SF Gate's coverage of Meals to Martinez. There are still meals to sign up for, and we encourage recipients to enjoy them and be proud they are supporting local restaurants.
For those receiving certificates, we made it so others would nominate you because we knew that, even after everything you've been through, you wouldn't ask for it yourselves. You're gutsy, fiery, independent, and have a “can-do” attitude. But the restaurants participating in Meals to Martinez are all great places. They want to help others too, they want to show you how delicious their meals are. So when you get your voucher, don't be shy about using it. You are helping others, you are helping to jumpstart the local economy. Bring yourself, your family, and your friends, share your good times and show the restaurant that you appreciate their hard work. If you like it, you'll be back again, and you'll spread the word about their great food and service.
If you are or know a “non-essential” worker that would like to participate, sign up HERE to have receive a $50 meal voucher.
Thanks to these participating Martinez restaurants. They are working hard to keep our community Martinez Strong.
